Aspergers
« on: February 26, 2014, 10:49:55 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I am a parent of a 13 year old girl with Aspergers who is self harming.

Do any of you survivors also have Aspergers and can anyone give me, the parent , any great words of wisdom ?

We are fairly new to this and I want to try and stop the cycle before it gets too far out of control.

Thanks in advance.

That's my diagnosis. I'm over 30 years of age, my SH was in my early 20s.

Have you read anything by Prof. Tony Attwood or Prof. Simon Baron-Cohen?
Strength, courage and wisdom.

Do you have input for daughter through CAMHS?
“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”

“It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
