I'm in my final year of my theatre degree, and m currently trying to get some kind of theatre project together to raise awareness about all sorts of MH issues to take to edinburgh fringe, to raise awareness, raise money and hopefully tackle the stigma. As the only people i've been open about about the extent of my mh issues, i'd love your opinion on this. Please be honest.
I don't know if you've heard of 'the vagina monologues' by Eve Ensler? Basically, its a group of monologues that Ensler wrote by conducting interviews with women about their lives. They are a mixture of funny, sad, moving etc. I'd like to do a similar thing but get people to write in about their experiences of having a mental illness or knowing someone with one. It can be in any style people like and is anonymous. I would then get together a group of actors and we'd stage it.
Does this seem like a silly idea? I just need to do something. I'd of course love to involve anyone on here who'd be interested
