My husband phoned an made an appointment for Thursday.  He explained that I wanted to chat to the Dr but he would be with me etc so she is expecting us both.  Don't know if I can tell the Dr everything so he can speak for me.  I know I will clam up and be terrified.  Feel sick at the thought of going but at least I have him with me.  ::-\: :-X

Jot a few notes down to take too - it's only a brief amount of time that you have to talk to your doctor, and even if hubby is speaking you still need to make sure that you don't miss things that could influence your gp's course of action.

That's a great idea, I have no doubt that hubby will go well prepared.  Wish it wasn't so hard to go... keep getting clamy and hot and cold thinking about it.

Hi. I'm very new here, but I am terrified of the idea of actually going and asking for help. I just wanted to say that I think you're being really courageous, and I hope that the doctor is helpful. Writing stuff down seems like a good idea.  :hug1:

I went, my husband came with me.  She was brilliant, very matter of fact with no fussing.  Gave us the number of a Counsellor to call.  I've given my husband the number cos I know I won't call, but it was step 1 completed.

Congratulations - taking that first step is an achievement in itself.

I still haven't called.  My husband has been amazing and not pushing me.  I think I'll try and get an apt in early Jan.  New year / new start..... lets see...... x

how do you feel about calling now?

might be worth considering that these things take time to actually happen with waiting lists etc.
“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”

“It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
