I swim on an almost daily basis to help with anxiety. When you're in the water you get so lost in your own head that you don't notice the people around you, and they don't notice you. If you were looking for something other than swimsuits, you might be able to try KT Tape (or something similar). It's a sports injury tape that you could put over scars. It's available on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price, but do check that it is waterproof! I tend to put some on over my shoulder (for an injury and scars) and it usually lasts 5 or so days before it even starts to come away. When you do want to take it off, the best thing to do is stand in a hot shower to help reduce the stickiness and then gently pull it away. Hope this helps!
