I have spoken to Uni, the HB people have seen a letter saying I'm no longer a student. I really just don't get it. I've arranged to go to the CAB on Monday and see someone from HB on Tuesday.

Just got to convince myself to stay alive until then ::)

Hi Tallulah,

I don't think I can add much than what has already been said other than to ask your local authority to look at the decision again (i.e. ask for a revision). I don't know how your local authority works but it won't necessarily take that long as it's just a case of a different officer looking at the decision. If you've got proof that you're not currently a student I don't know why you wouldn't be eligible to claim. I'm guessing the likelihood is there's been some confusion over you suspending your studies.

*hugs*

why don't speak to the person higher in the call centre i am sure he/she can help i.e the duty manager or supervisor and explaining the situation to them

I'm wondering if this is because you're still technically enrolled as a 'full time' student although your course of study is suspended for a year? You'll need to ask for clarification of this. The solution may be to either, go part time or completely leave studying, or claim dla which should then enable you to be a full time student and claim HB. Might have changed, so best to check out although am pretty sure someone can correct me. Hope you're sorted for the weekend x

also the fees are cheaper if you part time although you would have to commit to studying your course over a long period of time

I'm on a four year degree already and they don't offer a part time option but thanks.
