National BPD Awareness Month

May is BPD Awareness Month.

I have Borderline Personality Disorder and am amazed that someone somewhere has declared this month to be Awareness month.  Amazed because although there are many sufferers it is still very much an unknown quantity in the mental health world and usually this will mean it stays forgotten.

Putting it 'out there' could well mean being taken more seriously.  on the whole we are not attention seekers, manipulative or immature neither are we giving out 'a cry for help' as unfortunately 8 out of 10 people with BPD will be successful in their suicide attempt.

Thought I'd just mention it.

Its also EDS awareness month.

I wonder who wasnt paying attention lol
