Title: Biofeedback device.
Post by: Terri on December 12, 2012, 08:00:47 PM
Has anyone used a biofeedback device to help with stress/anxiety?

It's been recommended that I think about getting one. I tried one out today and it seemed to work pretty well - it took a bit of practice, but once I was used to it I felt the benefits after using it for a while. The one I used is quite pricey, but it might be a wise investment if it's going to help.

This is the one I used today: http://www.stresseraser-uk.com/

Any thoughts welcome!

It's a basic pulse oximeter with an interesting way of displaying/interpreting the data. The sensing technology is commonplace even in baby monitors, so there shouldn't be any concerns about safety. As long as it doesn't stress you out learning how to use it, there's a 30 day money back guarantee....

Thanks Rob. :)

It took a bit of getting used to, but I picked it up reasonably quickly. Remploy man was quite a good instructor! I think it'd be ok with some practice.

I remember studying biofeedback for A Level psychology. Might have to dig out my old text book for some reading...

I studyed it at A level psych too, i remember it being an innovative technique that has real observable benefits, so yeah i'd say give it a try :-)
