therapy breakdown
« on: May 07, 2013, 07:50:45 PM »
Is it bad if you have been seeing the same therapist for 18 months nearly, and on leaving a session, they say goodbye to you using someone else's name.  I know that kind of slip is easy to do in conversation, but usually it means your mind has wandered or you got distracted.  Feel a bit worried that my therapist could get distracted during my session to that extent?  Or am I over-reacting!?  Help please!

From past experience, its best to talk to them about things that have happened that worry you or upset you. Thus sounds like one of those things. Could you talk to them about it?
“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”

“It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

I would reccomend you talk to your therapist about how that made you feel, when they forgot your name.
