Title: Help us get it right! Improving responses to self-harm for people with BPD.
Post by: Filifjonka on May 07, 2015, 03:59:09 PM
THANK YOU!!!

I have had some very interesting and helpful responses from the people who have contributed to the study so far - thank you very much! One of the themes I have been thinking about a lot recently is up until when others taking over part of the control in a crisis situation is helpful and when it becomes disempowering and unhelpful. For instance, an authoritative clinician providing clear direction in an acute crisis can provide some relief, but not being involved fully in decisions regarding treatment or risk management can feel like all choice and control is taken away.
I would be very interested to hear your views on this - please feel free to comment here or send me an email to [email protected]
