Friendships & Self-Harm in Young People
« on: July 07, 2020, 12:10:04 PM »
Hi Everyone!  :waves:

I'm a PhD researcher at the University of Birmingham and Nottingham. I am conducting interviews about friendships and self-harm in young people (14-17 years old) who have self-harmed within the last year and/or who are friends with someone who self-harms. We want to have a better understanding of your experiences of self-harm or that of supporting someone who self-harms.

This will consist of an online/ in person one hour interview along with a card-sorting task (cards relate to self-harm experiences, thoughts, behaviours, events, etc.). You will be asked about your/ your friend's experience of self-harm, your well-being and helping behaviours.
Participants must have parent/guardian consent to take part. To ensure this, you and your parent/guardian will be given the possibility to have an initial online meeting with the researcher (myself) to talk about the study, before taking part.

If you are interested, please get in touch [email protected] or 07763062171.

Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it.
