Avoiding ED behaviours when physically ill *ED*
« on: March 05, 2013, 11:05:30 PM »
In the past three days I have dropped [a significant weight]. I am really poorly and in and out of hospital. Am really concerned that I will slip back into ED behaviours and enjoy the weightloss/get trapped again. The fact I can barely stand and I chose to use the little energy I do have on weighing myself says a lot really.

Any tips/advice would be greatly received  :)

[x amount] in three days thats definitely a lot to use, the best advice i can give you keep i hydrated so it doesn't muck up your insides too much and i would also consider going to the hospital to a+e as you've lost too much weight in one go. can you keep water down?

Local hospital has no beds to admit me. My appetite is completely gone and I am nauseous all the time. Yesterday I had a milkshake and a yoghurt which I kept most of it down. I'm struggling to swallow anything solid and if I do it comes back up. TMI sorry. I've had IV fluids etc. a couple of time since Saturday but would say I'm still dehydrated. I guess I've just got to hope my physical health improves soon.

what about trying another hospital in your local area rememeber dehydration can make feel 100% worse and can lead all sorts of complications.

definately agree with trying other hospitals and beg for more medical help

before you become to much more ill

can you try soup

that way your getting the nutrition going and fluids too

and what about custard that way it can help with calcium to

plus they can both be eaten warm which will help with your energy

Drink isotonic sports drinks rather than water. Get your flat mates to pop to the shops and get you some.
They have the salts and sugars in them that you need just now. You probably know that anyway.

Would it be possible to try custard or something like that, rice pudding, tapioca etc. Soft but solid foods.
If thats not working my staple stand by is soup. You can soak bread in it so that you dont have to chew it at all but it makes it more filling and you get more useful things into you.

+1 to Reeta, those are some pretty good suggestions.

(On a different note, I'm sure there shouldn't be numbers in this thread  ::-\: )
