First appointment? *ED*
« on: July 07, 2012, 03:04:39 PM »
I'm sorry I've not been around on here for a long time. I have my first therapy appointment (CBT) at an eating disorder clinic next week and I was wondering whether anyone had any advice on what to expect? I've been waiting for this to come round for a long time, but now I'm just really scared and wishing I could back out of it. I don't know what to expect from it at all?
Thanks. x

It'll be like any other first appointment, just probably with a bit more focus on food. They'll ask about your eating habits, patterns, how you feel about it all, possibly what you feel is the problem and what you want to change. Then all the general stuff too like mood, sleep patterns, thinking patterns etc. They'll likely ask about weight too but being specialists will understand it isn't easy. First appts are always nerve wracking but they get better and it can be such a telief to get to a place where they actually understand ED stuff properly. Best of luck x
