Title: Doing Well
Post by: Sian-May on July 10, 2014, 02:04:52 PM
Not too sure if anyone's bothered but thought I'd share some happiness with you all.

Things have been pretty good lately. My therapy is hard but I go every week and open up. I made my therapist sad during the last session as I was talking about all of the neglect I suffered and my mum abandoning me a lot as a child. She said it's all very sad and she looked emotional. I don't like to upset people but in a strange way it was nice because it makes me feel better as I worry I've overreacted about the things that have happened in my past, she kind of reaffirmed that it was all very traumatic and it's ok to be a bit broken as a result.

I've realised that it's not going to work with D. I mentioned to him a few weeks back about me moving down there and he quickly changed the subject so I guess I know where I stand with him now. Trying to distance myself from him. I've been getting close to a guy and I'm going to meet him properly this weekend which is exciting. He has the combination I have been searching for as he's a Dom but also incredibly sweet, caring and protective. I'm hoping it works out.

It's been over 2 months since I last SH'ed, 3 months since I last OD'ed and I haven't purged in 10 months. I'm definitely not all fixed but I do spend 90% of my time now feeling happy and smiling. I feel like the real me again. The black cloud has passed and the suns shining and it's an amazing feeling. Thought I'd share a bit of happiness.

Sorry I haven't been helping anyone, I just don't seem to have much time to myself anymore but I'll try and get on when I can. Stay safe everyone and keep smiling :hug2:

Personally I don't believe in jinxing yourself, what happens will happen... It's important to recognise and celebrate the good times...

Thank you hun :) I'm trying to look at the positive small achievements I've made. A few people recently have said they can see the difference in me which is nice to hear.

  me again.

I don't mean to be one of those annoying people that are all happy and I don't mean to rub it in to all of you that are currently struggling but I wanted to post something positive again. I'm seeing my psych on Thursday and I've come to the decision that I'm going to tell them I don't want them to adjust or increase my medication this time. Since started Quetiapine in September I have had it increased at every appointment with my psych, but for the first time in a long long time I feel like I'm stable. My mood has greatly increased and stabilised over the last 7/8 weeks and I'm happy to stay on my current dose of meds which is the first time I've ever been able to say that.

Haven't heard from D since the last message I sent to him, but it's ok. I don't want him out of my life but I think I've turned a corner and I've let him go. My family are very happy for me and my new fella is coming to mine this weekend to meet my sister, nephew and brother in law which is great! I can't wait.

My boss said she's noticed a massive improvement in my mood and performance lately which is great too.

Again, I don't mean to rub it in or anything, it's just been a long time since I've been able to post anything positive. I hope I can be a bit of a model for people as I'm proof that with the right help things can and will get better no matter how dark things seem, just hold on a little longer. I'll try and get on to post to people when I can but you're all welcome to PM me anytime or contact me off the forum if you want to. Stay safe everyone xxx
