Hey peeps,
Has anyone here been on zopiclone long term, if so, for how long and has it still worked?
I've been on sleeping tablets for years but I want to change to zopiclone!

I'm on zolpidem. Zopiclone gave me headaches and affected my mood. It also stopped working early on. Many sleepers do that what sleep meds you on now? Xx
-
I tried zolpidem but it didn't work, it kept me asleep for about three hours, I think it has a short half life. I've changed my sleepers in order to find one that's effective. I was on phennergen now I'm on zopiclone and it does work when I really practise good sleep hygiene with it. I used to be on temazepam and rohypnol they worked but that was under a private psych I don't think my gp would give me temazepam or rohypnol now.

I've tried most sleepers... but the only ones I've found any good is chloral betaine... and mirtazapine taken at night together... ?
zopiclone was OK for a few nights but quickly built a tolerance to it... xx

zoplicone was good, zolpidem better but am now sso used to them nothing works properly for me. only changed from zoplicone to zolpidem cos I had enough of the horrible taste you get in your mouth the next day from zoplicone

They're not meant for long term use hence why they can become ineffective.

Hey xx
Zopiclone works great for me as it's the getting to sleep which is the problem, I think it's only active for only a few hours so I don't think it is designed to keep you asleep past that.

Willow,
Zolpidem is only active for a few hours. Zopiclone is meant to keep you asleep it has a longer half life.

Thanks for the heads up :frying pan: I'd better check the packet as I know it starts with 'Z' ! ::)

Hey hash!
I have had zopiclone and found it worked really well for me. You have to make sure you head to bed within an hour, at the most, of taking them or else they kick in and you can be walking, talking, functioning but have no recollection. It got me into a bit of trouble until I understood how they worked. They use them for patients having surgery so if they come round mid op, they don't remember anything. Hope they help you xx
