Title: Camouflaging scars
Post by: Jackie2 on September 25, 2018, 10:45:40 PM
Hi! This is my first post so hope I’m in the right section! I’m looking for some advice about how to camouflage scars on my arms. Has anyone found any waterproof make-up or waterproof plasters?

I've never found standard concealers much use for scar covering and I've tried loads of them. Scar make up tends to be quite specialised so you could see if there are any services in your area.

I've had waterproof dressings prescribed in the past called 'Mepore' but I'm not sure if you can get them OTC so you'd need to ask the pharmacist or you could try Amazon/eBay. They did irrate my skin after a while though.

In the long-term there are solutions such as laser treatment, derma abrasion, collagen or tattoos as cover ups, I'm planning on tattoos :). You'd need to double check with a tattooist or medical professionals to see what treatment would be most effective because it varies depending on the scars.

Good luck :).
