Title: Fresh start
Post by: terrified heart on September 22, 2016, 09:31:37 PM
Have a few things going on at the moment (positive) and it feels like I've been given a fresh start in my life.

I had my last anti-psychotic depot injection this month. I've changed medication and am going to be having tablets instead of injections from now on. It means I'm less tied to the CMHT and more responsible for my own meds. I'm still seeing my SW, but our appointments are to be phased out as time goes on and I remain well. Then I'll just see my psych every 6mths.

I started a new job on Monday. It's going well so far. I'm working in a pharmacy and have the opportunity to learn new skills. I've been taken on with the view to being trained as a dispenser. After turning my back on a career in psychology it feels good to have found a job which I can make into a career, with the potential for gaining qualifications.

I've not SH'd since January, or OD'd since Feb. I've not had any time off work for MH problems since returning to work in April, after a spell in a psych ward.

Things not perfect (whatever 'perfect' is), but everything is going pretty well.
